Driving drunk is bad enough without driving right to the police station parking lot. That is exactly what Michael Sheehan did last Friday night, January 25th, 2013. Because of him driving drunk into the police parking lot, he actually made his arrest easier than police, who deal with drunk drivers all the time, have ever had to deal with before.
The police in Barnstable, MA said that Michael Sheehan drove right past a “Do Not Enter” sign and right into the police station parking lot past the sign that read, “Police personnel only.” He then parked in the parking lot when police noticed him and realized he was drunk. They then walked him into the police station and arrested him.
He was also given a breathalyzer, which he failed, of course. The police said this was the easiest arrest they had ever made because they didn’t have to transport him. All they had to do was walk him from his car into the police station and then to a holding cell.
Mr. Sheehan was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and trespassing. Although he was drunk and clearly didn’t know what he was doing, it still makes you wonder why he would drive right into the police station parking lot. It is almost as if he wanted to be arrested.
