"Drunk Dial Congress" is a new website designed for furious voters to speak their minds. KDVR reports Oct. 10 that with the government shutdown still in effect, approval ratings for congressional leaders are tanking by those who voted them in. The Drunk Dial Congress is making it easier for people to call in and reach their representatives on Capitol Hill.
According to the report, the site calls your phone number and puts you through to a random Capitol Hill office. There is also an option for talking points with politicians in addition to a number of drink recipes.
When Drink Dial Congress calls your phone, an intoxicated greeting follows.
“Is this government shutdown making you want to drink?”
The message continues before the Capitol Hill transfer: “Tell them what’s on your mind and tell them to get back to work.”
“Whether you are a furloughed worker, being forced to work for free, or just fed up at Capitol Hill: call and yell at a random member of Congress,” the Drunk Dial Congress site reads.
An ABC News-Washington Post poll showed that 75 percent of Americans disapprove of how the Republicans in Congress are handling budget negotiations and 61 percent disapprove of how the Democrats are handling it. For Republicans, that number is up by seven percent and Democrats, five percent, from last week.
