On Thanksgiving Day gobble ‘til you wobble, but before you do, join 12,000 other runners and walkers for the eighth annual Drumstick Dash! The event, which is hosted by The Running Company and benefits Wheeler Mission by helping to feed the hungry in Indianapolis, is a 4.5 mile run or walk (or 2.3 mile short course) through scenic Broad Ripple!
Date: Thursday, November 25 (Thanksgiving Day)
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Location: 1079 Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis (The event will start and finish between The Running Company in Broad Ripple and Broad Ripple High School)
The entry fee is $25 per person until November 22 and $30 after that. Pre-registration includes a long-sleeve Podium Mesh running shirt. After the first two people in your family register at $25 each, each additional family member is $15 ($10 for kids 12 and under).
Other activities include the Lil’ Gobblers Run (a fun run chasing Jerry Gobbler around the parking lot for kids ages 10 and under), a Scavenger Hunt, and Catch the Turkey!
Everyone is also encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to Wheeler Mission. The All My Sons truck will be parked at The Running Company to collect the donated goods.
500 volunteers are also needed to help the event run smoothly in the areas of registration, food court, course marshals, start line and water stations. For more info on volunteering you can go to wheelermission.org.
