Drum Corps International to host 'drum off' at Pearl tonight

The Drum Corps International Tour will be making a stop at the Alamodome on Saturday July 19 for the 2014 edition of the DCI Southwestern Championship. To kick off this event there will be a “drum off” today at Pearl in front of the stable from 6:30p.m. to 7p.m. preceded by a KTSA remote broadcast with Texas Radio Hall of Fame newscaster Elizabeth Ruiz. During this time there will be a ticket giveaway to the Southwestern Championship taking place tomorrow.

Drum Corps International is a global youth activity with artistic, educational and organizational influence. The DCI Southwestern Championship is a fan favorite event and one of the two shows before the World Championships in August that will have all the corps performing on a single night of competition. With more than 35 world championships in 17 North American cities Drum Corps International entertains the public with live performances and national televised events.

The DCI Southwestern Championships will be at the Alamodome at 2:30p.m. Tickets range from $30 to $55 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster online or by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and will be $5 more if purchased on the day of the event. Groups of 20 or more receive a $10 discount in the VALUE sections and bigger groups receive comp tickets.
