Drugstore mascaras offer a cheap alternative to department store brands

Mascara is one of the most useful beauty products on the market. It can draw focus to your eyes, wake up your face, and even give you a boost of volume when your lashes are lacking. But what if you don’t want to spend $20 on one tube of department store mascara? There are several mascaras in drugstores right now that are amazingly priced and of good quality.

Rimmel London Volume Flash The Max mascara rings in at a little cheaper than $5.50 at Walmart. This mascara promises up to 14 times the volume of your natural lashes. Beauty bloggers have been touting this mascara as a good way to get gloriously “fake looking lashes.”

L’Oreal Voluminous mascara , which can be purchased for around $7.50 in drugstores, has been likened to Yves Saint Laurent’s Faux Cils mascara by YouTube Beauty Gurus. On, a well known resource for beauty product reviews, this mascara garnered a 67% repurchase rate.

Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara is reviewed by one user on the Cover Girl website as being the best product for “look at me” lashes. At almost $8 retail, this product packs .44 fluid ounces into its brightly colored orange packaging, a .18 fluid ounce difference than that of the L’Oreal Voluminous and more than most other mascaras.

Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express mascara is another one of the popular “big brush” mascaras currently on the market. For about $6, it promises 9 times more volume. Its larger brush in combination with the collagen formula are reportedly key in pumping up the volume on your lashes.
