Drudge Report: 'No Obama jokes at Globes' shows 'Hollywood remains united'

During Sunday night's Golden Globes Awards, Jan. 12, 2014, Matt Drudge, apparently mining for headlines for his Drudge Report page, tweeted his disappointment that comedians failed to provide any Obama political jokes. First, Drudge snarked, "No Obama jokes at Globes? No politics suddenly for Fey and company. With country utterly split, we at least know Hollywood remains united."

Then Matt followed with a shrug-off regarding the current Hollywood comedic talent pool, "Disturbing truth in ballroom: The new generation comics are not really that funny. Fallon and Seth Meyers seem to be developing flop sweat."

On Jan. 14, 2013, Drudge "zinged" the Globe for taking jabs at Sarah Palin. He tweeted,"The biggest blur of mediapoliticsshowbiz Spielberg salutes Clinton who salutes Pres. Day Lewis. MooreFey STILL doing Palin, who has a life!" While Drudge may flash-back to Globe ceremonies in which Sarah Palin was totally decimated by acerbic comedy, there's always another year, another laugh. Elections 2016 are around the corner when it's likely Hollywood comedians will rediscover their political funny bones, almost overnight.
