"If our American way of life fails the child, it fails us all." - Pearl S. Buck
If only Ms. Buck could have seen into the future and changed her quotation to be about Philadelphians, at least our government any way.
Mayor Michael Nutter's "ingenious" plan to make rolling cutbacks or "brownouts" for the Philadelphia Fire Department have cost him and this City an amount more precious than any dollar amount: the amount of a young life.
A twelve-year-old boy, who was already diagnosed with Autism and suffering enough, was killed on Saturday Night in West Philadelphia. He died in a heavy fire that, due to Mayor Nutter's cutbacks of the Fire Department, could have been put out a little bit quicker.
As we all found out, DROP has been costing the City of Philadelphia $258 million since 1999. Then, Nutter claims to "not have enough money" to keep Fire Departments going at full strength. He blames everyone in Philadelphia for not buying into his two-cent-per-ounce-soda tax. Now, a child is dead.
The blood is on your hands, Mayor Nutter, and anyone else who supports this stupid DROP idea. When you're twelve years old, you haven't even lived life yet and, (I apologize for the blasphemy but...) God Damn it, this kid didn't even get to have the normal life most of us are fortunate to have. Mayor Nutter, your refusal to stand up to Unions and anyone else who supports this idiotic move has now killed an innocent child. Nutter's fake interest in getting rid of the program has been seen before. It's time to stop talking and take action. It's time to put our tax dollars where they SHOULD be going instead of handing them out to people on 3rd & Washington who end up destroying neighborhoods and killing each other.
Philadelphia's indescribable and indecent political policies are now actually killing people. May God have mercy on all of our souls as we will all now pay for the sins of people who want to drive taxpayer funded SUVs and go on taxpayer funded trips to the islands.
Shame on all of you disgusting people who thought they were getting away with their scam on this City for years. Shame on all of you DROP-supporting idiots out there who have now failed a child and, as Pearl S. Buck said, failed us all. Anyone who thinks this DROP thing is the way to go is a disgusting human being.
We thought Democrats were the "party of the poor people" but now we can clearly see they are the party that uses poor people as a crutch and as pawns. How many more people will unnecessarily die before Mayor Nutter turns the train around? Because we're on a train that is taking us right to the pits of hell, just left of Detroit, Michigan.

Lord be with the family of that little boy and those who knew and loved him in the neighborhood.
Social Progressives, in both Parties, are Theorists of the worst sort: they create and then project their worthless but devastating theories upon an unsuspecting public.
The result?
One less innocent little boy in the world.
SP Theorists never really live in the real world: they are the self-appointed 'elite', living on high (by stealing tax money) and looking down from Mount Olympus at all the little ants, upon which they step with daily regularity.
Well Mayor Nutter, the ants are finally hacked off enough to start looking up, and redirecting their pathways to climb up Mount Olympus.....
The army of 'We the People' ants are going to do to you and the rest of the SP Political Elite, what all army ants do in Nature: destroy all enemies in our path and take our cities back by whatever means necessary.
Resign and vacate.
Very moving and it's high time someone showed some real disgust; the time for saying "that's the way it always is, and nothing will change" is over. These "public servants" offer pious platitudes, deeming themselves champions of the poor, the working poor and the middle class. The only concern they have about we, "unwashed masses" is how high they can stand on our shoulders. Don't stop Aaron. It needs to be said. Bravo.
