Drone over Brooklyn: FBI seeks public’s help to find drone (Video)

Drone over Brooklyn? Strange, but could be true. An Atalia passenger jet pilot says he saw a drone over Brooklyn, New York on Monday afternoon, according to a Mar. 5 CNN report. “We saw a drone, a drone aircraft,” the pilot told controllers on radio calls captured by the website LiveATC.net.

“The FAA is investigating a report... he saw a small, unmanned or remote-controlled aircraft while on final approach to Runway 31 Right,” FAA spokeswoman Laura Brown told CNN in a written statement. “The sighting was approximately four to five miles west of the airport at an altitude of approximately 1,500 feet,” she said.

According to Gawker, the pilot reportedly saw the drone while landing at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.

The FBI has joined the investigation and issued a press release disclosing, in part, that “[t]he unmanned aircraft came within 200 feet of the Alitalia plane.” According to the FBI, “[t]he unnamed aircraft was described as black in color and no more than three feet wide with four propellers.”

“Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 212-384-1000. Tipsters may remain anonymous.”
