The following is a list of the drivers who have won the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race the most number of times. The NASCAR all-star race has been held annually since 1985, and been run at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina for all but one race.

Drivers have to earn their way into the race and here is how they do that.

  • All drivers who have won a race either in this year or the preceding year are in (if driver switches teams he is still in but the team he left is not)
  • All NASCAR Sprint Cup champions from the last 10 years are in
  • All drivers who have won the all-star race over the last 10 years are in
  • Drivers can earn their way in by winning or finishing second in the Sprint Showdown which is run the Friday before the all-star race
  • Fans can vote one driver into the race each year

All NASCAR drivers want to be in the all-star race because the purse for winning is over $1 million.

Drivers who have won the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race the most times

1. Jimmie Johnson - 4 wins

Jimmie Johnson holds the record for most wins in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race with four. Jimmie Johnson's wins in the race were in 2003, 2006, 2012 and 2013.

Jimmie Johnson is the defending champion at the 2014 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. If he wins it will be his first victory of any kind in 2014.

T-2. Jeff Gordon - 3

Jeff Gordon, who just won last week at Kansas for his first win in 2014, has won the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race three times. Gordon's wins came in 1995, 1997, and 2001.

T-2. Dale Earnhardt - 3

Dale Earnhardt won the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race three times in 1987, 1990, and 1993.

T-4. Davey Allison - 2

Davey Allison won the all-star race twice consecutively in 1991 and 1992.

T-4. Terry Labonte - 2

Terry Labonte won the all-star race twice 11 years apart in 1988 and 1999.

T-4. Mark Martin - 2

Mark Martin won the NASCAR All-Star Race twice in 1998 and 2005.
