If you have a teen and you homeschool, you will be needing to get them enrolled at some point in drivers education.  Teens of the age of 14 1/2 are eligible to take the course and it is given through Jordan Driving School.

A lot of homeschoolers tend to panic where this course is concerned because it seems like it is easier to get in to if you are in public school.  The truth is that Jordan Driving School does cater to homeschoolers and actually have two sessions coming up in the Raleigh area - one in January and one in February.  From Monday, January 11 through Friday, January 15 Faith Bible Fellowship Church which is located at 1905 Garner Glen Drive in Raleigh will host the class.  The next available offering is February 22-25 at Raleigh Vinyard Church on Litchford Road in Raleigh.  For a complete listing of available classes you can go to the Jordan Driving School website.

Per Jordan's website:  "Students must be currently enrolled in public, private or Home School to be eligible for our program. We are contracted to teach the Driver Education Program that is provided by the State – there is no charge to the student. This program is offered to students who have not previously taken Driver Education class in North Carolina. Students must be between the ages of 14 and ½ and 18 to be eligible for this program.

Jordan Driving School provides both the classroom phase and the behind the wheel phase of the Driver Education Program as required by the State of North Carolina prior to a 15 year old getting their Learners Permit. Classes are available after school hours at the high schools in the counties were we are contracted. There are also additional class times available in some counties."

Driver's Ed is a priority here in North Carolina and do not let your homeschool status stop you from getting involved.  If you have a location that would like to host a class session, you can let the instructor's at Jordan Driving School know that too.  Happy driving!
