A driver who got into an accident with a Colorado Police Department cruiser on Wednesday night has been arrested on drug and traffic charges.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, Officer Clarence Moore was driving southbound on North Academy Blvd in a marked police care when, at the Meadowland Blvd intersection, a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction attempted a left turn. Officer Moore had the right of way, the department asserted, as both drivers had solid green lights. The vehicles collided, resulting in minor damage and no injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, 29-year-old Claudio Quintana, was found to have been driving on a revoked license due to a previous DUI, the police department reported. Quintana's vehicle was impounded, at which point methamphetamine packaged for distribution, marijuana and other items often used by drug dealers were found inside the car.
Quintana was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail.
