A driver beaten after an accident in South Chicago is recuperating. He was attacked by relatives of one of the victims. The Epoch Times reports Nov. 3 that the driver hit two pedestrians last week -- a man and a woman. Friends and family of the woman were reportedly the ones who ganged up on the driver after his car hit her. A witness described the woman as being tossed her in the air before landing on her face.
The other victim, a man, is in critical condition.
The driver was seen being dragged from his car and beaten by a group of people.
“People got unruly, dragged the driver out of the car and assaulted him,” Chicago Fire Department spokesman Chief Juan Hernandez said.
The driver who was beaten after the accident has not been identified, but he's 59-years-old and was taken to a nearby hospital.
No citations or arrests were made in the incident which took place in the Burnside neighborhood at the 9300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue.
It was long ago that a driver was beaten after an accident by a motorcycle gang in New York after he mowed down other bikers who blocked his SUV.
