Corvette lovers are being encouraged to “get ready; get set; and mark their calendars to celebrate the 14th Annual “Drive Your Corvette To Work Day,” this coming Friday June 27th.

Sponsored each year by Mid America Motorworks, Drive Yoir Corvette to Work Day is held on the closest Friday to June 30th, the date the very first model, a convertible, designed by Harley Earl was introduced as a concept show car at the GM Motorama in 1953 .Myron Scott said to have given the car its name, christening it after a type of small, “maneuverable warship called a corvette.”

“We understand why so many owners consider their Corvettes to be a special car and only drive it occassionally, but we also think that driving the cars to your place of employment (at least once a year) is an excellent way to demonstrate just how popular these vehicles are, and it is a chance to ‘Save the Wave’ and keep the Corvette spirit alive,” states company founder Mike Yager, who added that the “the goal is to have as many Corvette owners as possible drive their cars to work that day. ‘

He is also inviting Corvette owners who observe the celebration to share pictures of their cars at work on https://www.facebook.com/corvettepassion.
