California needs money and a significant revenue source is from traffic citations. Not only are LA City Police and the California Highway Patrol on the lookout for any and all violations but the fees are at a record high. Effective immediately, if you run a red light, be prepared to cough up $436.00. If you pass a school bus with flashing red signals, the fine is $616. If you foolishly park in a handicapped zone, even for a minute, you will be out close to $1,000.
