Cocktail historian Elizabeth Pearce weaves a tale of Prohibition and the origins of some the infamous cocktails of New Orleans.

Engaging and passionate, Pearce builds her walking tour with historic facts, trivia and delicious ingredients. Participants don't need to pull out their wallets to dole out the cash for stops at bars or pubs throughout the walking tour. However, she will provide recommendations to those curious about exploring the bars on their own. Pearce provides a portable walking kit of four different libations for visitors to consume during the tour.

Tour guide: Elizabeth Pearce

Pearce, owner and creator of Drink and Learn, highlights the history of New Orleans' libations to first-time visitors and those interested in the origins of several famous and infamous mixed cocktails such as the Sazarec cocktail with rye whiskey as the main ingredient or the world-renowned Hurricane drinks that tastes like punch but deadly in huge quantities.

In a story-like fashion, Pearce shares the secrets of some of these libations and add her touch of history through the tales at key points throughout the French Quarters. Her gracious demeanor makes all visitors feel happy they selected her popular tour.

Price Point

Costing about $50 per person, the tour covers the drinks, the tales and the one-to-one experience of walking through the French Quarters through the eyes of Elizabeth Pearce.
