Drink Green: How to drink like an Irish (wino) this weekend

Looking for some green wine to go with your green attire? Check out a few of these wine ideas sure to get you in the St. Patty's spirit!

  1. Vinho Verde - literally means "green wine" and is a varietal from Portugal known for its light flavor and fresh taste. It tastes fresh because it is, the Portugese call this wine "green" for its limited maturation and limited ripening of the grapes. A perfect fresh start to spring, and great St. Patty's Day treat. Find this at Trader Joes or other wine purveyors.
  2. Irish wine - I have not tried these delicacies, and usually go for the other Irish "wine", but Lusca seems to be the brand to look for. They have some great varietals, but the Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet have gotten rave reviews.

Hope these "green' treats set you up for a successful St. Paddy's, especially if you prefer grapes to hops like me. Cheers!
