The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled freeze dried fruit on March 13. Oregon Freeze Dry Inc. has recalled 59,780 cases due to salmonella concerns.
The nearly 60,000 cases of Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit were produced exclusively for those who shop at Costco Wholesale stores.
The affected recalled box – shown in red and white colors – will contain 20 pouches of freeze-dried snacks with “Best Before Dates” listed on the upper left corner of the front panel.
Those who have purchased any of the affected dates are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Boxes printed with the “Best Before Date” of FEB 14 2015 – MAR 11 2015 were distributed to Costco Wholesale stores locations in Ala., Ariz., Calif., Colo., Conn., Del., Fla., Ga., Hawaii, Ill., Ind., Iowa, Kan., Ky., Md., Mass., Mich., Minn., Mo., Neb., Nev., N.H., N.J., N.M., N.Y., N.C., N.D., Ohio, Pa., S.C., S.D., Tenn., Utah., Vt., Va., Wis. and Puerto Rico.
No illnesses have been reported to date as a result of this recall.
