After both Drexel basketball teams led at halftime on Wednesday, both Dragons squads lost to their opponents by way of second half comebacks. The women lost at the DAC to the Hampton Pirates, 50-47, after leading 32-18 at the break, and the Drexel men lost at St. Joseph's 75-55 after leading 27-23 at the break.
For Denise Dillon's squad, sophomore guard Rachel Pearson scored 17 of her 19 points in the first half but the Hampton defense held her to only two points in a second half where the Dragons only scored 15 total points. Freshman Sarah Curran also finished in double figures with 13 points.
For Bruiser Flint's team, Tavon Allen led the way 20 points but as a team, Drexel allowed 52 second half points to St. Joe's. Senior Chris Fouch scored only six points, the first time the sixth-year player was held out of double-figures this season.
Both teams are back in action this weekend with the women playing at Penn on Saturday and the men hosting St. Francis on Sunday.
