Drexel drops William & Mary for third straight win

Freshman guard Meghan Creighton had a career-high 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting as the Drexel Dragons (19-7, 12-3 CAA) defeated the William & Mary Tribe, 62-47, on Sunday afternoon. Hollie Mershon also scored in double-figures with 16 points and eight assists and Taylor Wootton dropped in 10 points. Guard Renee Johnson-Allen grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds, six of which were offensive.

Drexel trailed 2-0 and 4-3 early in the game, but following Creighton’s second three-pointer, Drexel never relinquished the lead to the Tribe. Drexel dished out 21 assists on 23 field goals and grabbed nine steals to play a great all-around basketball game.

Drexel will now head out on the road to Atlanta to take on Georgia State for the final time as a CAA opponent. That game will be followed by a game next Sunday at Delaware and then the final regular season game of the year on March 6th back in Philadelphia against James Madison.
