Every year the runners of the world head to Orlando to enjoy the warm weather, put on the running shoes and jog around the Walt Disney World Resort for the annual Walt Disney World Marathon Week. In one of the most anticipated races of the year, it appears one celebrity has been sidelined for the event. On Wednesday Drew Carey let his fans know that he won’t be putting on the shoes for the challenge.
“I have a problem w/my knee and will NOT be running the WDW Marathon or 1/2 this weekend. I'll be there, just won't be running,” tweeted Drew Carey from his official Twitter account on Wednesday. Fans can appreciate not running with an injury, unless of course it is a mammal with big teeth is behind at a very high rate of speed.
The Walt Disney World Marathon is on Sunday, but the entire weekend is all about physical activity. On Friday the Family Fun 5K run has Walt Disney World full of people looking to enjoy the time together exercising. Then on Saturday the half marathon commences followed by the full marathon on Sunday.
This annual event has people coming from around the country to participate. A chance to enjoy the theme parks while reflecting good health, it’s a great opportunity for a good physical challenge.
While Drew Carey is sidelined from participating, fans hope the star gets well soon and can try again next year. Of course, that doesn't mean he won’t be seen around the event but he won’t be on the course.
