We have all seen it, the little pomeranian with a pink dress on ready to tackle would be intruders or the dachshund with the hot dog suit on. Many pet owners love to anthropomorphize their pets and put clothes on them. Is there any actual benefit to your pet for doing this? The answer to that question may surprise you.
Placing clothing on your dog may seem silly and unusual but certain clothing items do have benefits. Many companies manufacture all sorts of dog clothing ranging from booties to hoodies. Each has use for a variety of dogs.
For a dog with a thin hair coat, going outside in the winter months can be tortuous as it is so cold. Many of these dogs decide that it is easier to do their business in the house so they don't have to go out in the elements. Placing a dog sweater on this pet may just be all it takes for it to enjoy going outside and not pooping in the house!
Some pets have skin diseases that can wear away the foot pad or make it very painful to walk. For some of these pets placing booties on their feet can add a level of comfort and prevent any foreign material to enter an infected or sore paw. Booties can also be used for long walks to help prevent irritation to the paws due to rough concrete surfaces.
For many people in the world, rain is a frequent occurrence. Many pets hate getting wet and would prefer to just stay indoors and potty on the floor. For these pets adding a raincoat and hat would certainly keep them dry and more likely to go potty outside.
