The question of the day it seems is how to react to someone calling you a dreamer? Be glad. The person calling a dreamer probably has never had an original idea or done anything other than work for someone else. Dreamers, the rest of the world works for dreamers. Without dreamers no one would have jobs, cameras, computers or even clothes. Sears and Roebuck did not just magically appear. Dreamers created the world others just work for them. I have met very few true photographers who are not dreamers so be proud you are in the group.
The issue most have is that dreamers can be distracted from one thing to another quickly. It can be a way for things to get confused. People who are not dreamers really have no clue about things other than working for others and settling down in front of a TV, game console or computer. They have no desire to do anything but want you to do it and then let them have it. Remind you of anyone like infringers.
Let them live in their world that is only about them and what they can take from others. They have no way to understand and really do not care. If it is not about them or giving them something they are not interested because that has been their whole life.
I hope you understand that they are not in your class when it comes to creating something. Do not waste your time worrying about them calling you that. It is in reality a compliment they just do not know it.
Do not be surprised if people and companies did not answer your inquiry letters or even case summons. It is like a divorce, if someone does not accept a summons or moves to avoid things they are still subject to court orders. You can publish and if they still do not answer or show up you get pretty much what you ask for if they do not appeal during the time frame allowed. Once that is over, they lose and you get what you filed for even the divorce. If it is a divorce hope they marry someone else before the hearing or divorce. That puts a serious nail in their preverbal coffin. Do what is necessary for your cases. If they fail to respond and show up you will get a default judgment. They may contest it in a certain period of time but after that it is over. Just collect what is yours and go on. Remember the guy who sued Wells Fargo and they ignored him. They lost in court and had a branch inventoried by the sheriff’s department for a sheriff’s sale. They paid up including the sheriff fees.
Out of the three cases I am dealing with currently only the MLS has responded. We have talked and exchanged letters. Do we agree, not even close and it will more than likely get to court. The others who have had notices or inquiry letters sent to them have failed to respond. The court papers will be filed. The documents will try to be delivered just like the notices and inquiries. If they fail to show up, they lose.
Just be able to prove you tried to contact them. Letters of inquiry are good, FOIA papers and responses are good. You can do a publication without a court order or approval but you need to word it carefully.
Just understand they have long forgotten any feeling of responsibility. They blame or try to blame you and your failure to notify them. Just be able to prove you followed the process or exceeded it. You will be fine. They can claim innocence all they want but if you have the facts and details on your side. You will win if it is a solid case. If they fail to respond you get a judgment. All that is needed then is a document to order the sheriff to inventory their houses, cars and other things for sale.
