Tiffany Hayes (7) scored 23 of the Dream's 76 points followed closely by Angel McCoughtry (35) who scored 22 points. For the Mystics, the leading scorer was Ivory Latta (12) with 12 points and Monique Currie (25) who scored 10 points. McCoughtry continues to lead the league in scoring and steals. Last year she won her first WNBA scoring title and she could become the first player to win the title twice.
The Mystics took an early lead in the game throughout the first and most of the second quarter. However, with five seconds remaining in the first half the Dream took a one point lead at 38-37. The Dream never relinquished their lead.
Atlanta continues to own the best home record in the WNBA at 10-1 this season with all ten wins coming by at least nine points. The Dream had a franchise record 13-game home winning streak snapped by New York on August 11, and won all 13 games by at least seven points. The Dream is 10-1 in home games but just 3-8 on the road.
Next up for the Dream is Minnesota on August 20th in Atlanta's Philips Arena.
