Dreadlock girlfriend assault: Woman choked by boyfriend's ropes of hair

On Jan. 7 a dreadlock girlfriend assault allegedly happened in Portland, Ore., KOIN Local 6 reported Monday.

32-year-old Caleb Grotberg allegedly used his own ropes of hair to choke his girlfriend Monday morning after they got into a heated argument. Grotberg and has been arrested on multiple charges with counts including second-degree kidnapping, second-degree attempted assault, fourth-degree assault, menacing, and domestic violence.

The dreadlock assault took place at the 3200 block of Southeast 22nd Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. Monday. Police responded to a domestic violence call at a residence. The woman informed law enforcement that Grotberg assaulted her with proceeded to choke her with his dreadlocks. They searched for him throughout the neighborhood then transported him to Multnomah County Jail, where he's being held. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.

The woman who was assaulted by her boyfriend's dreadlocks was taken to a Portland hospital and treated for several injuries, Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau confirmed to Portland's KGW. Luckily, none were life-threatening.
