Dreadlock girlfriend assault: Man chokes girlfriend with long hair

A man named Caleb Grotberg allegedly used dreadlocks to assault his girlfriend during a domestic dispute. Grotberg is charged not just with assault for choking his girlfriend, but also second degree kidnapping.

The dreadlock assault occurred in Oregon, where a man rocking long hair is said to have used his own locks to commit the crime. According to the NY Daily News, police arrived on the scene on Monday morning after receiving reports that an assault was taking place.

Grotberg, who is 32, was taken to jail and booked.

On Twitter, the conversation regarding this incident has ranged from deadly serious to downright comic. While no doubt a serious story, one person tweeted out a link with the comment “this is why I dread locks.”

Others on Twitter have used the situation to talk about their own encounters with domestic violence, or how it has affected their loved ones.

As for the victim, she was taken to the hospital. She is said to not have any life-threatening injuries, according to an ABC News report.
