Dreading the thought of a swim suit this year? Wear a dress!

I have avoided the "s" word for as long as I could, but it's time to stand up like a woman and deal with this issue head on: SWIMSUITS. There, I said it.

This article isn't intended for those of you who have no problem flaunting your beautiful curves.  This is for kindred spirits who share some version of my prayer in which I attempt to negotiate with God to add another three weeks to the calendar so that I can do a few more pushups and crunches to tighten up my arms and belly. 

So far, it hasn't worked. So, until I can find a way to get the Big Guy to acquiesce, I've discovered the next best thing - swim dresses.

The swim dress has become very popular in recent years, especially since the dress has evolved from the "Gidget"-style beach wear to the more modern, fresher looks.  In fact, some of the newer styles - adorned with stones and belts - can make you look like you're on your way to happy hour, rather than the beach or pool. 

Designers claim that the dresses give women the perfect shape. Swim dresses give full coverage to the body while emphasizing the assets that we all love - the bust and hips. It also flattens the tummy and just an all-around beautiful and feminine garment.

If you don’t own a swim dress, make this the year to purchase one and have a little fun at the pool or beach this summer. You deserve it!
