Drawing a picture of a zebra

Zebras are docile creatures that are enjoyable to draw. People often think they have to buy African-themed works of art at a home decor store, but if you enjoy drawing then you can create your own zebra illustrations with colored pencils.

Unique artwork can be created by drawing your own pictures, and this is also a frugal way to make artwork for your home on a budget. Zebras are stimulating to draw because they have bold stripes that jump out, yet their bodies are very similar to horses since both creatures are part of the Equus family.

The zebra pictured here was created by first drawing his body and then the savanna background, which is the habitat where these animals live. Next, a variety of colored pencils were used to shade in the zebra illustration. Take a look at the video and slideshow to see how this drawing evolved from start to finish.
