The Drama League held their 27th Annual All-Star Benefit Gala last night at the Pierre Hotel in New York and actors on the guest included two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone, Laura Benanti, Montego Glover, Ann Hampton Callaway and Cady Huffman. The event also featured Vanessa Redgrave, Audra McDonald and Boyd Gaines. There were a limited number of tickets sold to the benefit event. Ticket prices ranged from $300 to $750 for the general public.
The event included a three course meal, silent auction, cocktail reception and special performances by Chad Kimball, Montego Glover, Nick Adams, Christopher Sieber, Emily Skinner, Will Chase, Ann Hampton Calloway, Liz Calloway, Scott Wittman, Marc Shaiman and Justin Guarini from the first season of American Idol.
Auction items at the event included a Yoga Sampler Package of Vinyasa and yoga classes at Kula Yoga Project in Tribeca, New York Yoga on the Upper East Side, Exhale MindBodySpa and one month of unlimited classes at Bikram Yoga NYC. Another auction item was a shopping spree on Madison Avenue which included stores such as First Up! Lily Pulitzer! and Michael Kors. 10% of the sales from the shopping spree are donated back to winner’s charity of choice.
The Drama League of New York started in 1916 and is one of the nation’s oldest not-for-profit arts advocacy and educational programs. The Drama League provides subsidized ticket pricing for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, educational programs, post-performance workshops, discussions, open rehearsals, meet-the-artist events, historical educational, awards and convocations.
