Drake and Hedley lead this year's pack of nominees for the upcoming 2014 Much Music Video Awards. The superstar Toronto rapper and Vancouver, B.C. based alt-rockers each earned six nominations.

According to a news release posted May 21 at BellMedia.pr.ca, the pair topped the list of 2014 MMVA nominees just ahead of Vancouver hip hop artist SonReal, who earned five nods. Montreal alt-rockers Arcade Fire and Scarborough, Ont. R&B artist The Weeknd received four apiece.

Lorde and Imagine Dragons, who were the first performers announced at Canada's premiere video awards event, each scored two nominations. Other multiple nominees include: Avril Lavigne, Justin Bieber, Sam Roberts, City and Colour, as well as Serena Ryder. First-time nominees include: American music innovator Pharrell Williams, Auzzy boy band 5 Seconds of Summer, as well as Canadian artists July Talk, Keys N Krates, Magic and Thugli.

Fan voted Wildcard nominee winners in the Your Fave categories were also announced today. They include: Video of the Year – The Weeknd f. Drake for “Live For,” Artist or Group – Avril Lavigne, and International Artist or Group – Selena Gomez. A full list of nominees are available at MMVA.MuchMusic.com

Reality TV personalities Kendall and Kylie Jenner were recently announced as this year's co-hosts. The MMVAs will take place on Sunday June 15 from Toronto's MuchMusic headquarters. Fans can watch the simulcast beginning at 9:00 p.m ET/6:00 p.m. PT on Much, CTV and CTV GO and can also check out a star-packed Red Carpet special airing prior to the event at 8 p.m. ET on Much. More performers, presenters and nominees will be announced in the coming weeks.

The MuchMusic Video Awards are annual awards presented by the Canadian music video channel MuchMusic to honour the year's best music videos. Past MMVA performers and presenters include: Avril Lavigne, The Black Eyed Peas, The Black Keys, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Carly Rae Jepsen, Colin Farrell, Down With Webster, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Snoop Dogg, and many more.
