Capcom announced today on Jan. 23 that "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" will be released on April 23 in North America and April 26 in Europe for PS3 and Xbox 360. After the success of "Dragon's Dogma" last year, Capcom has been working on expanding the world of the Arisen into a major franchise. This comes as no surprise, as Capcom said early on during the release of "Dragon's Dogma" that they would be developing more content and future sequels if the game went on to become successful, which it did, going on to sell over one million copies worldwide.
Though their have been minor DLC released for "Dragon's Dogma," Dark Arisen will be the first major expansion to add a significant amount of content. Dark Arisen will take place on the Bitterblack Isle off the Gransys mainland, and will task players with exploring an underground realm rife with new foes, equipment, augments, and skill tiers. The expansion will be available as a physical disk and a digital download, and it will not only come with a new area, missions, and enemies, but the original game as well.
So for those who have yet to dive into Capcom's new RPG, this will be an opportunity to jump right in and enjoy all of the new content and updates along with the original title. Gamers who have already begun their journey as the Arisen will also have some things to look forward to as new fans flock to play. Saves from previous games will be capable of being carried over and owners of the original title will be granted unlimited Ferrystones, the Gransys Armour Pack consisting of six new costumes, and 100,000 Rift Crystals. On top of all of this, an easier travel system and simplified menus have been added, which will be retrofitted to copies of the game already purchased.
