Today, Dragon Con 2013 officially kicked off. Tens of thousands of people have descended into downtown Atlanta for “the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction & fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the universe”.
According to Media Relations Director, Dan Carroll, it’s anticipated that 55,000-57,000, and possibly up to 60,000, members will be in attendance this year. The convention now spans 5 hotels, 4 of which are 4 star hotels, utilizing all available conference and convention space available. This year the vendor halls have moved to the Atlanta Convention Center at AmericasMart, Building 1, floors 1 and 2. Over 600 vendors will be displaying their wares for sale.
With the growth of the convention, the 40+ fan tracks, the events, the star-studded guest line-up, the workshops, art show, and so much more, it’s easy to be overwhelmed. Scattered throughout every hotel are information booths. Take advantage of them, they will share a wealth of knowledge with you and point you in the correct direction.
