Exciting news for Dragon Ball Z fans in Fresno today as FUNimation Entertainment has announced that Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, the first Dragon Ball Z film to come out in over seventeen years (well, unless you count Dragonball Evolution), released in Japanese cinemas over a year ago, will finally be receiving an English dub release; not only that, but the film will also be released in america theaters!
According to FUNimation's official website for the film, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods will be released in limited American theaters on August 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. The website also includes an announcement trailer and a place to sign up for e-mail alerts to know when tickets go on sale.

Following the events from the Dragon Ball Z television series, after the defeat of Majin Buu, a new power awakens and threatens humanity. Beerus, an ancient and powerful God of Destruction, searches for Goku after hearing rumors of the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza. Realizing the threat Beerus poses to their home planet, the Z-fighters must find a way to stop him before it's too late. Only Goku, humanity's last hope, can ascend to the level of a legendary Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus from destroying Earth, and possibly the entire universe! Fans of the series will be delighted to know that Battle of Gods is an original work from Dragon Ball creator, himself, Akira Toriyama.
