Just after Bioware announced that they will be detailing a different companion character for Dragon Age: Inquisition each month, fans received an early look at the game’s official next companion. According to a report by Gameranx on March 23, the Bioware forums were buzzing after a fan posted a leaked image from German gaming magazine Gamestar which revealed the bald elf companion in a new screenshot.

While gamers debated the legitimacy of the image, Dragon Age: Inquisition writer David Gaider decided to shed some light on the issue and confirmed that they character is indeed a new character from the upcoming game. However, Gaider corrected the initial report stating that the mage’s name is in fact “Solas” and not “Solace.”

Gaider didn’t offer fans any more details on the Solas other than revealing that he is indeed a new character within the fourth installment of the popular fantasy franchise. The Bioware writer teased fans that a reveal of the elf mage will come in time and suggested patience for more details.

As to who Solas is... well, I suppose you'll all have to wait and see.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is currently scheduled to release this fall on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
