‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ lead writer shows off returning companion characters

Bioware has already revealed that Dragon Age: Inquisition will feature the return of several characters from the series’ first two installments such as Varric, Morrigan, and Cassandra. Taking to his personal blog on Feb 20, Dragon Age Lead Writer David Gaider provided a closer look at the in-game models of two of these characters with detailed images of Varric and Cassandra the Seeker of Truth.

Fans will remember both of these characters from Dragon Age II. As the third entry in the popular fantasy franchise is being developed using the Frostbite 3 engine, the game will feature improved character models. Gaider’s unveiling of the full models showcases both characters new looks in high detail.

Varric was a dwarf companion that accompanied players during the second Dragon Age game. Cassandra was also introduced in Dragon Age II, but wasn’t a companion character in that game. For Dragon Age: Inquisition, however, she will become a full party member as an optional in-game companion.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to launch later this year on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
