Rajat Taneja has revealed some benefits the PS4 and Xbox 720 will have on the Frostbite 2 game engine, which is being used for “Dragon Age 3” and “Mass Effect 4.” According to a report by GamesIndustry International on Feb. 26, the CTO at Electronic Arts disclosed that the architectures of the next-generation systems are based on the standard PC. As a result, they can get the aforementioned engine running on the new consoles in a much faster time than before. What used to take months in the past will now take days to do.

In addition to “Dragon Age 3” and “Mass Effect 4,” the Frostbite 2 game engine is also being used for “Battlefield 4.” Electronic Arts previously stated that the third “Dragon Age video game will be released in North America later this year. The next “Mass Effect” title, which may be called “Mass Effect 4,” was first announced in late 2012.
