In the new Blu-ray release "Monster High: Frights, Camera, Action!" Draculaura has dreams of being the Vampire Queen and is mocked by her classmates, who think she is silly for believing she could ever be royalty. Nevertheless, Draculaura’s dreams seem to come true after Lord Stoker appears at the school announcing she is the new queen.

To make her title official, Draculaura must leave “Monster High” and head to Transylvania for a week to take part in a royal coronation. To help her celebrate, she brings some of her fashionable and inquisitive friends.

Unfortunately, Lord Stoker has ulterior motives for choosing Draculaura as queen, which she quickly discovers. Thus, the gang embarks on an adventure to find the ancient Vampire’s Heart, which will reveal the identity of the true Vampire Queen and put a stop to Stoker’s evil plan.

Will they succeed? Who is the true Vampire Queen? Will Draculaura’s dreams come true?

In the end, the message of the movie seems to ultimately be a noble one by demonstrating that what is on the inside – or in a person’s heart – is much more important than what is on the outside.

This direct to DVD Universal release is just one in a series of popular Mattel “Monster High” movies. The Blu-ray has a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track, 1080/AVC MPEG-4 video and includes three animated shorts, “Crime Scream Investigation,” “Monster-Morphoseas,” and “Games Ghouls Play.”

Overall, the family-genred film has a catchy theme song, characters with cool clothes and make up, an attractive fantasy element, lovable monsters, and scenarios that young girls will likely find eye-catching and appealing.
