Dracula takes a preview bite

Atlanta Ballet opens Dracula at the Cobb Energy Performing Art Centre and runs February 8 - 16. In the meantime, they gave a little taste of the performances last week to a small audience at their Marietta Boulevard studio space. Sitting in folding chairs along the walls of the rehearsal room, the atmosphere felt like a scene from Center Stage. However, the young drama filled fiction movie soon dwindled out of mind to a very professional, amazingly talented ballet troupe when the ballet mistress took the floor.

Here's an interesting fact about Dracula. It's being choreographed by Michael Pink, who is traveling to Atlanta for this show. In the meantime, he has sent his ballet mistress (think similar to a stage manager for theater except with a lot more directorial responsibilities) to teach the choreography to the dancers. The ballet mistress told the audience about the amazing choreography of Pink and how detailed he likes to stay to the story. In fact, one could open the book of Dracula and follow page by page the storyline with the dance performance.

Although, this was just a small snippet of the show, it ignited a desire to see the entire show and showcased the absolute strength and beauty of the Atlanta Ballet troupe. For a hauntingly brilliant show and to see the work of the precise Michael Pink, buy tickets now for this tantalizing performance of Dracula!
