Dr. Travis Stork unveils STAT diet plus Kate Hudson’s post-pregnancy weight loss

Host of "The Doctors," Dr. Travis Stork says that he's found the solution. It's a three-step diet designed to take off the pounds and keep them off, which he unveiled on the April 1 episode of the talk show. Dr. Travis wants to spread the word about using food as medicine. And that includes taking off the pounds. He's crafted a diet designed to provide you with a jump-start to weight loss, detailed in his book "The Doctor's Diet: Dr. Travis Stork's STAT Program to Help You Lose Weight & Restore Your Health" (click for details).

The STAT Program is designed to teach you to choose foods that are low in calories, so that you can actually eat more food while still losing weight. You'll discover how to kick the sugar habit and use tricks such as spices and herbs to add flavor without fat.

Dr. Travis emphasizes the weight loss benefits of these tips:

  • Eat protein at each meal. It boosts your metabolism and keeps you full longer.
  • Don't drink your calories: Choose water, not soda or sugary coffee beverages.
  • Learn to stop fearing fat and which fats are healthy, such as nuts.

His "Doctor's Diet: Dr. Travis Stork's STAT Program to Help You Lose Weight & Restore Your Health" book also includes recipes, such as his favorite Veggie Smoothie below.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup milk or yogurt
• 1 cup frozen berries of your choice
(Optional for RESTORE and MAINTAIN plans: substitute one small banana, 1 cup chopped fresh peaches, or other soft fruit)
• 1 handful baby spinach leaves
• Optional: 1 teaspoon honey

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend together until smooth. Enjoy.

In addition, Dr. Travis revealed how Kate Hudson shed her post-pregnancy weight and restored her pre-baby body: Jump-roping. He emphasized that the benefits of jump-roping include blasting calories, toning your body and portability (you can even take a jump rope on safari).

Just 10 minutes of jumping rope burns about 100 calories. It also enhances your balance.
