Dr Sangay says world should acknowledge that Tibet is in a tragic situation

Today is just another long day of misery for many Tibetans who are feeling alone in the world as tensions with China persist. Buddhists in Syracuse are often feeling helpless to help out due to lack of widespread support with feelings Tibetan Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay is right to have recently implied the world will regret neglecting Tibet. The Tibet Sun has reported "World will regret its neglect of Tibet: Tibetan PM."

Tibetan leader Dr Lobsang Sangay has said that the international community is setting a bad precedence by not backing Tibet’s non-violent struggle even at a time when monks are self-immolating out of helplessness. Sangay has said “If the Tibetan movement is not supported … there are many other struggles around the world… What will they think? They will say it’s not worth investing in non-violence and democracy. They will say, ‘Look at the Tibetan cause, how many Tibetans are self- immolating non-violently and no one gives a damn’.”

Sangay has gone on to express that he feels the international community should respond by acknowledging that Tibet is in a tragic situation. And Sangay has dramatically commented
“Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere… What goes comes around… That’s the battle we have to fight for the 21st century, for the whole world.” Sangay has gone on to say that there is a need for “a more preventive, more encouraging and inspiring measure” by the international community. Sangay has made many insightful observations about the horribly tragic situation in Tibet. His concerns about Tibet deserve deep respect worldwide.
