Dr. Oz sheds light on four beauty product ‘myths’

When it comes to anti-aging products, many consumers generally spend first and think later.  According to 'The Dr. Oz Show' website, American consumers spend around $20 billion on anti-aging ‘cures.’

Today, Dr. Oz shared four important things to consider when choosing these types of products.

·          To cover dark under eye circles, its best to choose a product that contains caffeine.  There is no ‘cure’ for dark circles, but they can be temporarily covered.

·          When considering an anti-wrinkle cream, more costly doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a better product.  Your best bet is to protect your skin from wrinkles by using a sun screen.  Drinking plenty of water also keeps wrinkles at bay.

·         When choosing a facial cleanser, remember that it stays on your skin for just a few seconds – hardly long enough to help your skin.  It’s important to use a proper moisturizing cream on your face.  Since moisturizer stays on the skin, it can give you more benefits.

·         Scars on the skin are generally permanent.  Although a scar may fade over time, it will never completely disappear.  The only real remedy for a scar is plastic surgery.
