Dr. Mehmet Oz said you can reduce belly fat and enhance weight loss by following a high-fiber, dairy-free diet on the June 27 episode of the Dr. Oz Show.
Dr. Oz said women are more likely to suffer from diet-related bloating because their colons are "curvier" than men's, making it harder for food to pass through during digestion.
Dr. Oz's guest was gastroenterologist Dr. Robynne Chutkan, author of Gutbliss. Dr. Chutkan said women should try to eat 25 grams of fiber a day, and recommended this high-fiber anti-belly bloat smoothie for breakfast:
- One cup coconut water
- One-half cup papaya
- One tablespoon acacia fiber powder
- One-half cup pineapple
- One tablespoon psyllium husks
- One cup of spinach
- Four ice cubes.
Dr. Oz said eating fennel seeds before and after a meal will also dramatically reduce bloating, as will limiting dairy intake.
Anti-Aging Lotions That Fight Wrinkles
On a separate segment of the show, Dr. Oz spoke to three top dermatologists: Dr. Howard Sobel, Dr. Jeanine Downie, and Dr. Lori Brightman.
They said wrinkles, sagging skin, and age spots are the three biggest causes of aging skin, but there are inexpensive, natural topical creams that can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Hydroquinone. Dr. Downie said a 2% solution of hydroquinone will prevent and reverse age spots, melasma and other discolorations.
- Multi-peptides. Dr. Oz said multi-peptides restore firmness to sagging skin because they contain amino acids that promote collagen growth.
