Feeling bloated can make you miserable when you try to wiggle into those skinny jeans. It also can be painful. Dr. Mehmet Oz has researched new ways to beat the bloat, which he revealed on his Monday show. Plus: Queen Latifah talked with Dr. Oz about her secret weight loss weapons. We've got the skinny here from the author of "YOU: The Owner's Manual: An Insider's Guide to the Body That Will Make You Healthier and Younger."

Ginger is one of the best holistic remedies for banishing bloat, says Dr. Oz. It helps you feel better while relaxing your stomach, turning you from balloon belly to flat abs. Among the ways to take ginger for this purpose:

But ginger isn't the only solution to beat the bloat. Peppermint works too, because it helps with digestion. Try herbal tea such as Celestial Seasonings Herb Tea, Peppermint. Don't like tea? Try peppermint capsules such as Good N Natural - Oil of Peppermint.

In addition, Dr. Oz suggests using enzymes. They can even help if you eat foods such as broccoli and beans, which are good for your health but tend to produce flatulence. He recommends alpha-galactosidase supplements prior to eating such foods, such as Source Naturals Daily Essential Enzymes.

Queen Latifah recommends a diet high in protein and fat-burning foods. Example: Enjoy a salmon omelet, green tea, brown rice and miso soup for breakfast. She also suggests making it easier to get enough sleep, which has been shown to impact your weight, by taking 200 mg of magnesium one hour prior to bedtime, such as Now Foods Magnesium Citrate.
