"Glee" star Lea Michele recently experienced heartbreak when her boyfriend Cory Monteith died. She shared her diet tips and healthy lifestyle on Dr. Mehmet Oz's Thursday talk show. Get Lea's morning drink recipe to banish bloat and find out if breakfast is necessary for weight loss.

Lea credits her family for her confidence. When she's stressed, dining with them eases her anxiety. When she was growing up, Lea admits that she did have problems with acne and self-esteem.

Hoping to help young girls ease the tension that often accompanies the teenage years, Lea urges them to feel empowered about their appearance rather than let others affect their self-confidence. Part of the key: Eating a healthy diet.

Lea notes that she never ate fast food or candy when she was growing up. She has continued that clean eating diet, and believes that when you're happy and relaxed while you eat healthy foods, you benefit even more. Lea created her own morning beverage that eases bloat.

To make Lea's drink, blend one glass of water, the juice of two lemons, 1/2 chopped cucumber, six cubes of watermelon and a handful of ginger shavings. She recommends sipping this concoction in the morning.

For weight loss success, should you eat a big breakfast after finishing that bloat-banishing beverage? Not necessarily, according to a new study that indicates no benefits from consuming breakfast, reported Denver 5280 magazine on Wednesday.

Researchers studied more than 300 participants for 16 weeks. Breakfast eaters did not lose more weight than breakfast skippers, said study co-author James O. Hill, professor of pediatrics and medicine at CU–Denver.

On a recent episode, Dr. Oz emphasized that he recommends eating breakfast. He noted that studies have linked skipping breakfast to weight gain and high cholesterol. His breakfast weight loss tip: Plan a high protein meal such as eggs and fruit, and automate it so you aren't tempted to cheat with something like a doughnut.

In addition, a recent study showed that eating a large breakfast and small dinner boosted weight loss for obese women. Reported in the Obesity Society journal, researchers concluded that a "high-calorie breakfast with reduced intake at dinner is beneficial and might be a useful alternative for the management of obesity and metabolic syndrome."

Also on his Thursday talk show episode, Dr. Oz discussed nutrition concerns. The most common nutritional deficit ranks as iron. He noted that it is essential for energy.

Signs that you have an iron deficiency include fatigue, pale skin and dark circles under your eyes. A good source of iron is lentils.

Another common nutritional deficit is potassium. If you suffer from leg cramps, which can be particularly painful at night, enjoy an avocado to supply your needs.

An estimated two billion people suffer from zinc deficiency. Symptoms include hair loss. Eat just two oysters or take a supplement.
