Dr. Oz updates 2-Week Rapid Weight Loss Diet and talks food allergies

Dr. Oz examines food sensitivities and gives an updates on his two-week rapid weight loss diet on the Feb. 4 episode of the Dr. Oz Show.

Dr. Oz said millions of people unknowingly suffer weight gain, fatigue and digestive problems because they have a hidden food sensitivity or allergy.

"Your body has a secret," said Dr. Oz. "You could be allergic to a food and not know it simply because you may not recognize the symptoms. That stops today."

Dr. Oz's guest was nutritionist Nora Gedgaudas, author of Primal Body, Primal Mind: Beyond the Paleo Diet for Total Health and a Longer Life.

Nina said the most common food sensitivities and allergies are to the following foods:

  • Corn
  • Dairy
  • Grains
  • Soy.

Dr. Oz said a food sensitivity or allergy wreaks havoc on your metabolism, skin, and digestive system, and noted the symptoms of food sensitivity:

  • Bloating
  • Weight gain
  • Fatigue
  • Joint pain
  • Brain fog
  • Congestion
  • Gas and diarrhea
  • Acid reflux
  • Skin rashes
  • Food cravings.

Dr. Oz said there are also emotional symptoms of food sensitivity, including mood swings, rage, anxiety and sadness. Gedgaudas said she suffered from food allergies for years but got rid of them after following an elimination diet.

On a previous episode, Dr. Oz detailed the meal plan for the Elimination Diet, which promotes weight loss and improves your emotional and physical health.

Dr. Oz Gives Update on 2-Week Rapid Weight-Loss Diet

On a separate segment of the show, Dr. Oz provided an update on his Two-Week Rapid Weight-Loss Diet. It has been a month since Dr. Oz unveiled this diet, which over two million people have followed.

Dr. Oz's 2-week rapid weight loss diet helped his audience members lose over 1,000 pounds combined (or 9 pounds per person) in just two weeks. In addition to weight loss, dieters experienced improved sleep, better skin, and more energy.

Some people said the first few days of eliminating gluten, caffeine, sugar, and alcohol were rough, but the rapid weight loss and dramatic improvements in their health were totally worth it.
