The flu virus spreads quickly and easily, according to Dr. Oz. He demonstrated how quickly the virus spreads on the Jan. 25 episode of “The Dr. Oz Show.”
The doctor used a powder on his hands to represent the flu virus. The then shook hands with audience members. Dr. Oz brought out a black light to show how easy it was to spread the fake flu virus from his hands to the audience members.
The audience members had touched their pants, shirts and faces, so the black light showed the fake flu virus all over their bodies. Dr. Oz used this demonstration to show how easy it is to spread the flu.
The doctor said the influenza virus is spread even quicker through sneezing. The flu spreads up to six feet through a sneeze. Dr. Oz said sneezing into your elbow reduces the risk of spreading your germs. It is everyone’s responsibility to do their part to minimize the spread of influenza.
