Dr. Oz and Fatima says burn off calories with a Soul Train workout

If you watched Dr. Oz you may have caught his recent show with dancer Fatima Robinson. Fatima has choreographed dances for Michael Jackson, Black Eyed Peas, Fergie and many others. She is a natural talent and knows how to groove. Dr. Oz invited her on his show to encourage a good workout by just putting on some “old school” tunes and dance. Fatima said Soul Train is celebrating 40 years in history this year and the show started right here in Chicago! If you grew up watching Soul Train you probably burned lots of calories trying to keep up with all the dance moves without even thinking about it.

Dr. Oz and Fatima had a good time as Fatima showed him some moves that included squats, kicks and stepping side-to-side. Then she asked Dr. Oz “how low can you go?” as they did the famous “bump.” Fatima even suggested grabbing a 5-pound dumbbell as you do the dance moves to add to the workout.

Dr. Oz said Fatima Robinson worked with the American Heart Association (AHA) to put together this fabulous Soul Train Workout Plan. Dancing is a fun way to burn calories and get up off your butt right at home. Dust off some of your favorite “old school jams” and get up and bust a move. This is a great idea to combine fitness with Soul Train, the greatest dance show of all times. Let’s hope Fatima actually does a workout DVD like this. It would be hot!
