Do you remember your dreams in the morning and wonder what they mean? Dr. Mehmet Oz invited dream expert Cynthia Richmond to his Jan. 23 show to explain how you can harness the power of your dreams to change your life, from weight loss to relationships.
Author of "The Dream Power Journal: A System for Organizing Your Dreams to Enhance Your Life," Cynthia designed a dream log system to help you organize and interpret your dreams. Included in her book is a dictionary of dream symbols and their meanings. When you dream about friends or family, for example, it can be a symbol. Dreaming about a grandparent can symbolize wisdom, while dreaming about a friend may be a message to yourself to take better care of yourself, such as eating healthier foods and exercising.
Dreaming about animals can range in meaning. For example, if you dream about bugs, perhaps you are perturbed ("bugged") that you have woven yourself into a stagnant period when it comes to starting a diet). Do you dream about places in your home? Dreaming about your kitchen symbolizes nutrition and digestion. Transportation dreams also have meaning. Dreaming about a bike can symbolize a need for balance, such as balancing eating fast food versus eating organic, home-made food.
