Monday January 21st is Martin Luther King Jr Day and is being celebrated as a day of service across the Delaware Valley. Here are some local activites you can participate in:
The following Activities are from 10-11:30 Am on January 21st:
1. Community Building at Rydal Park. 151 the Fairway, Rydal, Pa. There will be games activities and crafts. http://www.rydalpark.org
2. Create a Theater in a Box; Abington Friends School 575 Washington Lane, Jenkintown, Pa. You will help design costumes and props and decorate mini theaters that will be donated to schools across Philadelphia. This event is sponsored by the folks at Yes! http://yesandcamp.org
3. Teddy Bear Making:Abington Friends School 575 Washington Lane, Jenkintown, Pa. Students 2nd grade and up can make Teddy Bears for children supported by Bethanna and Lutheran Family Services. http://www.bethanna.org/bethanna http://www.lcfinpa.org
4. Help create a Library:Abington Friends School 575 Washington Lane, Jenkintown, Pa. Sort donated books for new Philadelphia libraries.
