Get ready for a doctor’s visit because Dr. Luigi is about to make some house calls. Nintendo of America announced on Dec. 18 a brand-new Wii U eShop exclusive with the reveal of Dr. Luigi during this month’s Nintendo Direct video broadcast. Set to release for the Wii U eShop on Dec. 31, Dr. Luigi features online multiplayer and also has traditional Dr. Mario game modes that will support online play.

Fans of Dr. Mario and Tetris will find themselves hooked to Dr. Luigi’s addictive gameplay. Players are tasked to align pill capsules with color-matching viruses. Though this game formula is simple, online competition and the desire to do better will keep gamers occupied for countless hours.

Despite being similar to Dr. Mario, there are a number of new features and game modes to be found in Dr. Luigi. Luigi is a doctor of his own talents and this is reflected in the game with different skill settings and attacks while playing in multiplayer. Likewise, there is an original mode where the pills are L-shaped.

Furthermore, Dr. Luigi comes with a Dr. Mario mode, Retro Remedy mode, and Germ Buster, which has players place capsules using the GamePad touch-screen.

Dr. Luigi will be available for download from the Nintendo Wii U eShop on Dec. 31 for $14.99.
