Several Downtown Des Moines restaurants and bars are teaming up with the Iowa Architectural Foundation to hold the third annual "Eat.Drink.Architecture" fundraiser on Saturday, April 12. The event is a progressive food, drink, and architectural tour of Downtown that will raise money for the IAF. The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Tickets for the event are $35, and they may be purchased online through Red Truck Tickets. Event t-shirts may also be purchased online through the Iowa Architectural Foundation and Eight Seven Central for $15. $3 from the sale of each shirt will go to the IAF.

The event will start at El Bait Shop/High Life Lounge at noon, and then continue to The Levee on Court, The Royal Mile, and then finish at Hessen Haus. Each stop will have small plates and appetizers along with beer samples. Along the route, participants will take part in a guided walking tour of Downtown Des Moines. The new route this year was designed to showcase recent and improvements to the area, including the Principal Riverwalk, Flagship Building (formerly Younkers), World Food Prize, and Cowles Commons (formerly Nollen Plaza) projects.

Note: Due to a three-alarm fire that engulfed the Flagship Building in the early morning hours on Saturday, the route may change before the day of the event. To find out more information about the event, or to learn more about the Iowa Architectural Foundation, go the IAF website.
